noun, Slang.

a stupid, irritating, ineffectual, or unattractive person.
2.
an intelligent but single-minded person obsessed with a hobby or pursuit: a computer nerd.
Looking at these definitions of the word "nerd" I would have to say that I am a fitness nerd. I'd consider myself intelligent, but single minded and obsessed with working out. I'm not always single minded, but working out is pretty much an obsession for me. I might have to argue with the definition of stupid, irritating, ineffectual, and unattractive... I mean, that's just harsh! I guess that's not for me to decide though...
Anyway! If you are a nerd, and the definition of someone who is obsessed with a hobby or pursuit... don't be ashamed! Own it!!! Just make sure your hobby or pursuit is a positive one. It's better to be a master of something than a jack of all trades.
